If we were having coffee, I’d offer you up a nice cup of Seattle’s Best that I just brewed up. Since I’m up getting you a cup, I think I’ll get a refill for myself. This is good stuff! Coffee not your thing? I’ve got some green tea, oh and some apple cider that is really good heated. It’ll just take a minute or two.
So, we stayed in tonight. The original plan was to ride over to dinner and a movie after work. We thought we’d see “The 15:17 to Paris,” but that didn’t happen. I discovered on the way home that our route to the theater had been blocked by a head on collision. It would be four to five hours before the road opened said the nice State Trooper that detoured my drive home.
That head on thing is bad business. It really is a wonder that it doesn’t happen more often though. What with all the cars zipping about on the two lane roads, the margin for error is slim. Scary, really! I don’t profess to know how it happened, but I can imagine, and it’s not pretty.
So we watched a movie at home instead of going out. I’ll tell you right now that I thought that the new “Blade Runner” would be good. I’ll also tell you that I was wrong. In short, the movie was long… and boring. We’re talking 2 hours and 43 minutes long with only about 30 minutes at the end that I would consider pretty good. If you haven’t seen it, don’t waste your time.
That is just my opinion though, and since we’re listening to Jimmy Buffett I would advise you to take it with a bit of salt, and perhaps a slice of lime.
On the up side, I’m pretty happy with my writing progress this week, even if it has been a bit scattered. I posted a #FridayFictioneers post yesterday. If you like, you can check it out here. That was the only writing posted this week, but it’s not the only writing I did. I began an old story anew and need to continue with that, but I ended up getting distracted.
Yeah, I know that you’re shocked that I would get distracted. That seems like all I ever do. Anyway, what got me really excited was a story that I wrote way back in October of 2015 and promptly forgot about. I found it earlier in the week and read through it. I was so shocked when I actually liked it. Don’t get me wrong, it needs some love, and so I began last night reworking it a bit. I hope to submit it some places as a short story, but beyond that, I can see that story working into something longer. All in all, I am very excited about it.
On that note, I think I should work on it a bit. I seem to be rambling on a bit anyway. Might I get you a cup to go? You’ll come back and visit again won’t you?
Okay, I’ll see you then. Bye for now.
#WeekendCoffeeShare is an informal weekly link-up that is now hosted by Eclectic Alli. Check out her post for the week and maybe post a share of your own!
